When you adopt a dog, you save a life.

Please have a look at all the amazing dogs we have for adoption in our centers and our foster program. If you would like more information on a pet found here please fill out an adoption application (filling this out does not secure an adoption) and a member of our adoption team will reach out. Be sure to include the pet’s name and ID# in the subject line. In the email please include your phone number and email address and someone will contact you as soon as possible. (Please allow 24 hours for return contact)

Take a look at our SAPA! Urgents and Adoptables Facebook page for dogs in immediate need of foster or adoption.

To see what each adoption requires and includes, please visit our Adopt page.

Adoption Application Disclaimer:  Filling out the adoption application does NOT guarantee a hold or confirmation of adoption on the pet you applied for.  All applications are reviewed and must be accepted by our trained counselors before a pet is adopted.  Please allow 24-48 hours for our adoption team to contact you in regards to your application.

Spike is about 3 years old and weighs 49 lbs.. He is a friendly, calm, love-bug boy who loves meeting new people. Spike is a calm, cool and collected dog. He loves when you show him gentle affection. Spike is kennel trained. When spike is left alone he does not destroy anything. He walks great on a leash. He is potty trained. He is also learning simple commands. Spike does really well in car rides. He does not beg for food either. Spike does great with small children and other dogs. My favorite characteristic is his tongue. It's so cute seeing him walk around and his tongue hanging out of his mouth lol. He is missing teeth but has no problem eating or drinking. Spike came into our foster home and it was like he had been here all along. Spike would do well in a home with low activity. Spike comes with his leash, collar and bed. I am currently located at San Antonio Pets Alive! and I am in a foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of the additional dog who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application found on the website at After we pre-screen your application we will connect you with the pet. Send an e-mail to with pet's name and ID# for other questions. Please allow us up to 24 hours to respond because all fosters work with us on a volunteer basis.
