When you adopt a dog, you save a life.

Please have a look at all the amazing dogs we have for adoption in our centers and our foster program. If you would like more information on a pet found here please fill out an adoption application (filling this out does not secure an adoption) and a member of our adoption team will reach out. Be sure to include the pet’s name and ID# in the subject line. In the email please include your phone number and email address and someone will contact you as soon as possible. (Please allow 24 hours for return contact)

Take a look at our SAPA! Urgents and Adoptables Facebook page for dogs in immediate need of foster or adoption.

To see what each adoption requires and includes, please visit our Adopt page.

Adoption Application Disclaimer:  Filling out the adoption application does NOT guarantee a hold or confirmation of adoption on the pet you applied for.  All applications are reviewed and must be accepted by our trained counselors before a pet is adopted.  Please allow 24-48 hours for our adoption team to contact you in regards to your application.

It is our pleasure to introduce SOPHIE LOU! Sophie Lou is an incredible sweetheart who also goes by SOPHIE, SOPHO, SOPHER, LOU-LOU, and MAMA LOU. Sophie Lou is approximately three years old and has proven herself a lovable companion who has responded very well to simple training. Sophie Lou has a uniquely beautiful marbled coat with super short hair, and appears to be an American Staffordshire Terrier blend, with possibly some American Bully and/or Bull Terrier. Sophie Lou is 50 pounds, house trained, crate trained, and absolutely terrific around children and other dogs. Sophie Lou LOVES affection and is looking for a semi-active family who can give her all the attention they have! Sophie Lou enjoys walks and playtime with a ball or a piece of rope, but prefers to cuddle on the couch more than anything. Also, please be aware, she could have her belly rubbed literally 24 hours a day! I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of an additional pet who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care. If you are interested in adopting me, please email with my name and ID#. Please allow up to 24 hours to respond, as all fosters work on a volunteer basis.
