When you adopt a dog, you save a life.

Please have a look at all the amazing dogs we have for adoption in our centers and our foster program. If you would like more information on a pet found here please fill out an adoption application (filling this out does not secure an adoption) and a member of our adoption team will reach out. Be sure to include the pet’s name and ID# in the subject line. In the email please include your phone number and email address and someone will contact you as soon as possible. (Please allow 24 hours for return contact)

Take a look at our SAPA! Urgents and Adoptables Facebook page for dogs in immediate need of foster or adoption.

To see what each adoption requires and includes, please visit our Adopt page.

Adoption Application Disclaimer:  Filling out the adoption application does NOT guarantee a hold or confirmation of adoption on the pet you applied for.  All applications are reviewed and must be accepted by our trained counselors before a pet is adopted.  Please allow 24-48 hours for our adoption team to contact you in regards to your application.

Tabitha is a 5 month old possible retriever/shepherd blend. She is super-sweet!. When she isn't napping she loves to play with her toys and spend time sunbathing in the yard. She has gorgeous green eyes and the cutest ears! Tabitha is healing from a pelvic injury, for which she takes daily medication and does still walk with a limp, but with a few weeks of crate rest she should be able to gain her strength back and get around much better. She loves all people and gives serious tail wags and kisses to anyone near her. She'll also curl right up in your lap if you let her. Tabitha is housebroken.. We are working on a few tricks that don't agitate her injury and keep her mentally stimulated while in her crate. Even though she can't get around as well as other dogs yet, she definitely shows bits of her puppy energy and loves to play tug-o-war, and be silly with us.If you're looking for a calm and lovable snuggle buddy, Tabitha is your girl. Tabitha is the absolute happiest girl! She loves being outside, follows me around when she can and absolutely exudes happiness when taken out to explore the yard. She would make an excellent family dog as she's extremely observant yet gentle with people and other pets. Shes really calm with our cat and doesn't mind coexisting with her. So far shes done extremely well with our other dog and they play together with toys and then both take naps. She doesn't mind getting bathed and tries to play with the hose as well. Shes doing great in a home. I am currently located at San Antonio Pets Alive! and I am in a foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of the additional dog who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application found on the website at After we pre-screen your application we will connect you with the pet. Send an e-mail to with pet's name and ID# for other questions. Please allow us up to 24 hours to respond because all fosters work with us on a volunteer basis.
