Rebecca Mayberry brings more than 25 years of experience in leadership, fundraising, and marketing to San Antonio Pets Alive! Prior to SAPA!, Rebecca served as the National Manager of Development at the Petco Foundation, where she worked to secure gifts from both corporations and individuals and oversaw several highly successful national projects. In addition, she worked at Best Friends Animal Society where she managed a team of seven and focused on creating strategies to secure individual gifts, developing stewardship plans and managing donor events. Rebecca lives in the San Antonio area with her husband and six rescued dogs and cats.
Kelsey Gardner brings a lifelong love of animals and a wealth of shelter operation knowledge to her position as Director of Operations for San Antonio Pets Alive! She began her career in 2012 with Austin Pets Alive! while studying Sociology at the University of Texas. What started as a volunteer position grew into a full-time job as an adoption counselor and eventually a shelter manager, fostering her deep passion for animal rescue. Kelsey spent several months in Houston during the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey to help coordinate rescue efforts for the thousands of displaced animals affected by the flooding. Kelsey is a proud cat mom and enjoys spending her spare time with her furry family.
A native of San Antonio and graduate of Texas Christian University, Joanna's career began as a communications coordinator, handling the public relation efforts for well-known state and local clients and non-profits. Since her time at SAPA!, Joanna has completely revamped the organization's fundraising through marketing efforts. She has increased email giving by 10,000%, social media giving by 458% and has successfully raised the most in SAPA!'s history through direct mail. Joanna is a proud dog mom after *attempting* to temporary foster for SAPA!’s Headin’ Home Transport Program.
