‘It doesn’t feel like five years,” is what I keep thinking as I sit down to write this blog post celebrating my fifth year at San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!). With so much accomplished—67,000 lives saved--and so much left to do, this date has definitely snuck up on me.
I truly enjoy every moment that I get to spend with the amazing men and women who work at SAPA! and have dedicated their careers to saving the lives of vulnerable dogs and cats. I have an amazing Board of Directors who support the work that we do and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with me on this lifesaving journey.
Our donors, foster families, shelter partners across the country, and every family who has happily adopted a SAPA! cat or dog are the reason I am looking forward to my next five years as Executive Director of this incredible organization.
Looking forward, there isn’t a minute to rest. SAPA!’s needs are great, including a Veterinarian and a central shelter location to house all of our programs in one location is at the top of the list. In other words, get ready San Antonio. The call to action is coming very soon. Securing property, funding and building a single facility to house our employees, animals, and programs to better serve our community and the at-risk dogs and cats who help make life better for all of us is the next significant milestone for SAPA!
Thank you for making my last five years unforgettable.
My very best,
Rebecca Mayberry
