Dear Lifesaving Friends,
I hope the new year is treating you well! Here at SAPA!, we haven’t skipped a beat going into 2023. Time continues to fly as our lifesaving work continues.
So far this month:
-We have saved 224 lives
-Finalized 193 adoptions
-Moved 179 animals into foster care
-Taken in 15 animals from the public through our owner surrender program
-Transferred out 26 pups to our rescue partners
There have been nine code reds where 25 or more dogs and puppies are on the city shelter’s euthanasia list for that day. We saved 99 urgent dogs and puppies this month that were on the euthanasia list and are still here thanks to our incredible fosters, rescue
partners, and team.
It’s going to be another tough year, but I am encouraged by the support and help of you and our amazing friends.
Warm regards,
|

Do you have an ex that is crappy? Perhaps you were betrayed by your bestie? Or maybe someone did you dirty and you’re still salty about it. San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) has got you covered!
For a $10 donation, SAPA! will personalize a bag full of dog poop specially made for an ex! From February 1st until February 10th, SAPA! will write the name of your ex-someone on a poop bag with your custom note. These stinky bags and notes will be shared on
our social media channels on Valentine’s Day.
All proceeds will benefit the animals currently in SAPA!’s care. An email will be sent out to purchasers on Valentine’s Day with a gallery of your crappy gifts.
Get your reDUMPtion by clicking the link here:
*For sanitation and stinkiness purposes, bags will be filled with a non-poop material.
**Full names will not be included on the notes, only first name and last name initial.

Happy Tails Taco! We are excited to announce that Taco, one of San Antonio Pets Alive!'s long stay dogs, found a forever family just shy of his 9th birthday!
Taco was a staff favorite and lived his life in and out of the shelter. He is a handsome Boxer and Retriever mix, and is the biggest cuddle bug full or personality and spunk. We are thrilled he has a loving family to spend his glory days in. Taco - we wish
you the best life with your new mom and fur-brother!

Foster of the Month
Sandra Morales and Juan Pablo Chavez
|
|
Sandra Morales, and her husband, Juan Pablo Chavez have been nominated by SAPA!'s foster team as January fosters of the month! Sandra and Juan have been fostering with SAPA! since July 2022 and have made a great impact on many lives.
Kate, SAPA!'s Leads Foster Coordinator, says, "Sandra is always very sweet when she comes in to pick out puppies to foster! She picks the ones that are having trouble getting adopted and always finds them a home! Selena is always
willing to help when we need it and she is a great foster parent!"
We are thankful to have amazing fosters like Sandra and Juan who go above and beyond for the animals in our care.

Volunteer of the Month
Whitney Bayba
|
|
The amount of compassion and eagerness to help the animals in our care is unmatched when it comes to Whitney!
Whitney started volunteering with us in October of 2022 and has already logged over 100 hours at our Medical Care Clinic. Whitney is quick to come in on days she didn't sign up for and has helped to care for our cats and puppies at our Clinic. We are truly
grateful for her dedicated time and hard work to help our animals!
|
|
San Antonio Pets Alive! has many cats and dogs that have been with us for more than 200 days. Our "Forget Me Not" campaign highlights our long-stay animals to help find them their forever families.

Penelope's outrageously positive attitude and sheer joy helped her beat distemper as a young pup. Along with her uniqueness, she is the most loving and happiest puppy and lives the same as any other puppy!

|
Cronos is a sweet girl that had a rough start at life. She is a little different as she loses her balance but it's really very cute. She is very sweet and full of purrs when you pick her up and hold her. Cronos loves to play
with her toys and her laser.
