Dear Lifesaving Friends,

To help alleviate kennel space at our onsite locations, we are having a free adoption special this week for onsite dogs and puppies. Please help spread the word to friends and family looking to adopt and encourage them to adopt don’t shop!

The heavy releases devastatingly continue, and we continue to remain full. For the first 14 days of October, there have been six code reds at the city shelter, 25 or more dogs and puppies being on the euthanasia list for that day. Two of those days had more than 50 dogs and puppies on the list, including Monday of this week, which has never occurred in the nearly five years I have been here.

BISSELL Pet Foundation aims to “Empty the Shelters” by sponsoring reduced adoption fees! We are happy to announce that a total of 61 kittens, cats, puppies, and dogs were adopted from San Antonio Pets Alive! during BISSELL Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters event! Happy tails!!

Congratulations to our wonderful foster, Pebbles, for being nominated by San Antonio Pets Alive!'s foster team as our October foster of the month! Pebbles has been a SAPA! foster since 2018. Pebbles specializes in fostering adult dogs, puppies, and bottle-baby kittens.

We admire Pebbles very much because she is not afraid to foster dogs that have challenges. She is patient with those dogs and prepares them to have positive social skills. When kittens' lives are on the line, Pebbles will stop what she is doing and pick them up to save their lives. Pebbles lifesaving efforts don't stop there! On top of fostering, she also transports animals to different locations and even to Austin! 
 
We are thankful for Pebbles and all she does for the animals in our community. 

San Antonio Pets Alive! has many cats and dogs that have been with us for more than 200 days. We have launched our "Forget Me Not" campaign highlighting our long-stay animals to help find them their forever family.

Fenway is a handsome 8-year-old kitty! He likes to relax and sunbathe in the kitchen with the sun shining through the window! He enjoys his cat trees and loves hanging with his people once he gets to know you! He is a people pleaser and would love to find some people and a home to call his own! 

Clay is a sweet seven-month-old pup that loves to cuddle. He is a smart, big boy weighing 41 lbs and still growing! He currently lives with his foster family and foster fur-siblings. He has been around kids and cats. He is ready to find a wonderful, loving family to call his own!
