Cumbre is a tiny ten-year-old Chihuahua mix that weighs less than 12 pounds. She was found by a good Samaritan that reported her to Animal Care Services (ACS). San Antonio Pets Alive's lifesaving team saw pictures of her medical conditions and knew we had to help her. Cumbre has a hernia and golfball-size mammary masses hanging from her abdomen, causing tremendous discomfort. In addition, this poor gal is heartworm positive and needs a severe dental cleaning.
Shortly after Cumbre came into our care, one of our amazing SAPA! fosters, Brittany, picked her up and brought her home. Brittany said, "Cumbre is doing okay. She sleeps quite a bit. We can only get her to eat soft food because of her teeth. She favors laying down because of her mass. One of her tumors hangs and swings when she walks and it bothers her."
This sweet girl needed masses removed, a hernia repair, heartworm treatment, and dental cleaning. This small yet mighty lady has endured so much in her lifetime.
Cumbre has received the medical care that she needs, and is recovering in her foster's home. When Cumbre has fully recovered she will be available for adoption.
