Hope was on the city shelter’s euthanasia list on September 6, this past Tuesday. Upsettingly, she has a burn on her back that looks very similar to Allen, who we introduced to you a few weeks ago. We brought Hope into SAPA!’s care that same day, and we are hoping Hope heals and recovers well like Allen.
Hope is a sweet and adorable two-month-old black Terrier, American Staffordshire/Mix. Hope is timid, rightfully so, because she has a burn across her entire back, causing a significant amount of pain. We are not sure who or what are causing these injuries or the type of neglect these dogs endured before coming into our care from the city shelter. We just know that we are their last chance and need our help.
This sweet girl has secured a foster and is in a loving family. Her burn is cleaned daily with a saline solution and antibiotic cream is carefully applied. Her foster Danielle is keeping a close eye on her because the burn wound must stay exposed, as bandages adhere to exposed tissue and don't allow burns to heal correctly. Hope is on two types of medication to help avoid any infections and visits our medical team on a regular basis to check on her wound. The estimated cost for her medications and medical care is more than $400.
We are thankful Hope is in great hands and is receiving the care she needs to have a second chance at life. Please consider making a gift to help cover Hope's medical costs.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our animals and lifesaving work. We continue to see a large amount of dogs and puppies on the city's shelter euthanasia list, like Hope, and we are extremely grateful for your compassion and help to save these precious lives!
*Any remaining funds we receive after covering the cost of Hope, will go toward the thousands of dogs and cats we save each year.
