Already this year, we've faced an inundation of neglected orphaned kittens, with some sadly enduring forms of abuse. Many suffer from severe medical injuries, requiring constant care.

Orangine, rescued just yesterday from the city shelter's at-risk of euthanasia list due to her severe shoulder wound hindering her mobility, stands as one such case. The large, infected abscess is excruciating for this fragile, four-week-old kitten. She is currently on pain meds and an antibiotic to clear the infection.

As a tiny kitten, Orangine yearns to explore and play, but her injury hampers her movements, a heartbreaking sight to witness. Thankfully, she's now in the care of one of our experienced medical kitten fosters, receiving the attention she needs to recover.
