Update 2/24/2023: Sofia is thriving in her new foster home and is feeling and looks so much better. Unfortunately, her foster is having medical issues and can no longer care for this sweet girl. Sofia almost lost her life yesterday.

Like so many others, she was scheduled to be euthanized by the city shelter through no fault of her own. Thankfully, SAPA! 's Lifesaving team saw her sweet face and gentle disposition and brought her into our care.

Though she looks rough around the edges, her condition (demodex mange) is not contagious to other animals or people. She’s now at our Rescue Center, eager to receive the care she needs to be comfortable and ready for a temporary foster home, or a forever family.

Sofia is only a year and a half old and weighs 27 lbs. She is super sweet and friendly - a little shy, but will walk on a leash otherwise, she can be carried easily. She met Bingo, ANOTHER pup we saved from being killed today, and they did great in the play yard together.
